My friend has a SuperSport 286 (so do I but mine is okay). He tells me that after 18 months (since new), the backlighting on the screen has failed. He can still see characters on the screen, but no backlight. The local authorised repair shop has quoted him $1075 for a new screen, $75 labor, plus the cost of a new *lcd cable*. He says, and i agree, that this is ridiculous, given that you can buy a used SuperSport 286 for $1500 or so now! Any suggestions/ideas? The LCD assembly with back light p/n 969-0957 for the ZWL-200 is listed at $407.00 exchange and $1168.00 retail net. Labor rates are up to the dealer. I would suggest calling 1-800-877-7704 to locate other nearby service centers. Gary L. Anderson Sr. Computer Repair Tech. Central Michigan University
