We have two zenith 386 systems, one is one of the original 386s with one of the older large and heavy 1490 type monitors. The other is a newer 386/20 with one of the newer lighter 1490 type monitors. Both machines demonstrate an intermitant condition in which in would appear that one of the color guns goes out or begins to flicker. Sometimes weeks will pass with no problem and suddenly a day won't pass where we aren't fighting this. One machine is in Maryland and the other in New York, so it is nothing in the immediate environment. One machine has an ATI VGA-TV card driving the 1490 and the other has whatever the recent default zenith card is. Has anyone any ideas about what might cause this condition and what can be done about it? Thanks. Tim Stephen Associate Professor RPI
