A student who bought an EasyPC with dual floppy drives a couple years ago, now wants to add a hard disk. I know of no way to do this, but thought I would check with Netlanders to be sure. Dan Mandell Saint Mary's College Computer Center Internet: mandell@bach.helios.nd.edu

There is a way to upgrade with the following additional material/labor: Miniscribe model 8025<not sure>, a HD ribbon cable, fan and a power connector. One of the floppy drives is to be replaced with the HD<a specia <a special bracket is installed under the HD and the fan is installed beside the HD, the power connector is installed to the HD and fan. 2 junpers are moved (1) to tell the computer it has 1 floppy drive and another to tell it is now has a HD installed....That's all. I have done it. Drawback to installing a HD for the EZ-PC is the cost. It is cheaper to purchase a EZ-PC with HD than purchase a HD, bracket, power connector and fan...... -- internet: rocco@nstar.rn.com -or- rocco%nstar@iuvax.cs.indiana.edu uucp: ..!uunet!nstar.rn.com!rocco -or- ..!uunet!nstar!rocco NSTAR Public Access 219-289-0287 - 1190 newsgroups - 1500 megabytes - 7 lines

I was very interested in the fact that someone had found a way to upgrade the EasyPC with a Hard Disk. I haven't checked but is there free slot for the HD controller? Is there a "kit" someone mak; Does Zenith know about this retrofit? Who did you order from? Dan Mandell Saint Mary's College Computer Center Internet: mandell@bach.helios.nd.edu
