We have a Zenith 386/20, 40 M harddisk. When we load Novell shell (IPX.COM, NET4 or XMSNET4) tsrs, we cannot reboot with either CTRL-ALT-DEL or CTRL-ALT-INS. The machine hangs up with light on floppy drive b:. If we do not load the Novell shell then we can reboot either way. other particulars: 2 floppy - 3 1/2 = A:, 5 1/4 = B: 3 Meg memory though problem also occured with original 2 Meg setup. Originally thought problem was floppy but was told that the warm boot wasn't clearing memory completely. Somehow some part of the warm boot procedure is not getting invoked because of the Novell stuff in memory. A real nuisance because machine lacks a reset button. Anybody have any ideas? Michael D. Hey, don't feel bad most folks I know have the same problem. Usually the problem has to due with the various command line options that you use to install the Novell Shell which can disable your warm reboot commands; however; the problem could also be related to some pretty peculiar interactions between various ZDS Device Driver Software and the Novell Device Driver Software. The most interesting problem I have seen was where everytime you had executed a warm reboot on a ZDS Machine after running Novell the EMS Board would think it was a 2.2 Meg Memory Expansion because the EMS Driver was resident and the Novell IPX Driver was resident over top of it!! These are just some of the possibilities of what could be wrong please consult your owners manual for various conflicts of these types there are literally 35 that I know of.
