There are many companies who know theoretically to do IVD. Often, since many of them are doing first projects, they run into problems (such as how to interface different devices). We are usually called in to do the "magic" involved with putting the whole thing together. Sometimes that entails writing device drivers, sometimes new routines to make things work, and sometimes we help companies decide what authoring system is best, and generally get them started in the right direction. Our minimum charge for consulting is $50 per hour. Bucks can be made, but you really have to be on top of all different kinds of IVD work in order to be successful.
