@ (The bug won't get my message now...) I am looking for a method of transferring files (not just data, but files) between low-end home computers using phone modems (300 or 1200 baud). This could be in the form of software which is made for each of several different systems by the same software company, or in the form of a standard protocol which is specified in terms of the "conversation" which the two machines have during the connection. The general idea is to allow Apple, Commodore, TRS-80, Atari, IBM-PC, TI, etc. owners to send files to others within local calling distance. BASIC programs on the sender machine should end up in the standard BASIC program format on the receiving machine, and TEXT files from the sender should end up in the receiver's standard text file format. Although APPLESOFT keywords would not be recognized when run on a Commodore, the program would still list correctly and could be edited to work correctly, or sent along to another nearby Apple owner. Anyway, let me know about any program or standard protocol which would let me do this . . . -- Robert P. Munafo ...!{decvax,cornell,linus}!dartvax!robertm
