               WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT

        Interactive Videodiscs in Education
                 June 21-22, 1988 

The University of Utah Health Sciences Center will be hosting a national
workshop on Interactive Videodiscs in Education, June 21 - 22, 1988.
The workshop will be held at Eccles Health Sciences Library and the College
of Nursing.  It is under the direction of Suzanne Stensaas, PhD, Dept. of
Pathology.

Topics will include:
  o     Project Proposals and Design
  o     Authoring Systems
  o     Evaluation
  o     Production
  o     Software and Hardware

The format will be a series of speakers addressing specific practical
issues, which will be supplemented with discussion.  A series of brief
morning presentations on software and hardware will be followed by
afternoon sessions with demonstrations and an opportunity for in-depth
exploration of each system with an expert.  The workshop will be of help to
anyone interested in new instructional technologies; and educators,
administrators or media specialists.
