[comp.ivideodisc] VIDEODISKS OR CD-ROMS with MACINTOS

helen@prism.TMC.COM (11/03/88)

Optical Data Corporation now offers HyperCard stacks, called "LaserCards",
along with a number of their archival videodiscs. They are available
in biology, earth science (geology and meteorology), physical science
(physics and chemistry), and astronomy and space exploration. I believe
they were also planning a CDROM release of their databases in 1989.
As of late 1987, they charged $400 for each of two Life Science discs,
and $40 for the accompanying LaserCard stack.

The Voyager Company also has a Bio Sci "Laserguide" that indexes the
Bio Sci disc by Videodiscovery. The disc is $495 and the stack is $99.95.
