Is someone out there who has connected a Pionner LD-V4000 before? I would like to control the laserdisc player using a RS-232 connection. Please response by e-mail to "john@iex.com". John Ho

If my recollection is correct the LD-V400 is not an RS-232 device. We have had reasonable success accessing these players using a product called PCLS from Visual Database Systems. This is a cable that hooks to the parallel port and uses software to generate the proper timing for the 4000's computer port. I assume they are still around but I haven't spoken with them in several years. The address is: Visual Database Systems 614 Bean Creek Road Scotts Valley, CA 95066 (408) 438-8396
