currie@alumni.Colorado.EDU (Andrew Currie) (12/13/90)
I am designing a multi-user system that will include several reference materials on cd-rom (e.g.,dictionary, encyclopedia, atlas). I have many questions but will only ask one now: What can i expect in terms of licensing agreements with the publishers of this material? The spectrum (so far) ranges from a simple site license to buying a copy of the disc for every _potential_ user! (quite a cost difference!) What complicates matters more is that i am not working on a simple LAN application, this will be accessible via dial-in. Has this legal copyright Can O'Worms been solved already? If so, where? Thanks, andrew <currie@boulder.colorado.edu> p.s. Is there any other newsgroup i should be posting to re: cd-rom?
