[comp.ivideodisc] Call for votes: comp.multimedia

ittai@shemesh.gba.nyu.edu (Ittai Hershman) (12/17/90)

Proposal: The creation of a newsgroup called "comp.multimedia"
to discuss interactive multimedia technologies and
applications: systems which combine text, graphic images,
animation, sound, and/or video, with computer technology.

The newsgroup would promote discussion of relevant
technologies (e.g. DVI, CD-I, CD ROM, videodisc)
applications and methodologies. It will not be moderated.

Consensus: While a few individuals held reservations about the
word multimedia, the consensus supports the creation
of the group with the name "comp.multimedia".

The Vote: As per the Usenet guidelines, the voting period is
for 21 days ending on Sunday, 6 January 1991.
Votes must be mailed to the address:

		   multimedia@gba.nyu.edu

Votes posted to a newsgroup do not count. Furthermore,
as per the guidelines, the wording must be unambiguous
	    -- such as -- "I vote {YES | NO} for the creation of
comp.multimedia as proposed in the call for vote".
