SUBJECT: Formation of SIG-TEAL (SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP TO
               EXPEDITE THE ACCOMODATION LAW)

The purpose of forming SIG-TEAL is to improve access to CD-ROM
published works by the visually impaired, the deaf, and selected
physically disabled who use computers.

The recently passed disability legislation has the purpose of
providing greater access to the job market for disabled
individuals. CD-ROM technology provides selected disabled
individuals with potential access tO vast amounts of information
and thereby an increased opportunity for new careers.

The main objective of SIG-TEAL is to establish a network of
CD-ROM industry, Government and disability groups to foster an
exchange of information on problems that prevent full use of the
technology by the disabled.
