We are putting a proposal together to master our own disks with audio, video and computer graphics to be included. The aim is to produce very low quantities of the disks for use in-house as part of a Computer-assisted Learning project. The project is primarily related to Apple Macintosh, but we may later move into PC-based usage as well. To be sure we are heading in the right direction, we would like to hear some comments from others already working in the area as to the best medium for this kind of project. Sony magneto-optical rewritable disks are being widely marketed here, then there are the old 12 inch Laserdiscs, WORMs and then CD-ROMs. We would gladly accept any comments about price/performance, disk life etc of these alternatives. In short any suggestions as to relative merits of each. Thanks for your help. Ian Hill Curtin University of Technology Computing Centre Western Australia
