I wonder if XENIX users reading this group might take a moment to
let a soon-to-be XENIX user know what hardware they are using, and
any tips I might want to know about in using Icon in this environ-
ment. I'm coming from the BSD 4.3 and MS-DOS worlds, and I'm dread-
fully worried about incompatibilities and other assorted chinks in
the armor of 32-bit extensions to AT busses and XENIX/386.

Richard,
I ported ICON to Xenix/386 with no difficulties. I believe the
configuration files for Xenix/386 are now included with the ICON
distibution.
My own system is an IBM ps2/80, and the ICON benchmark suite produced
very acceptable results, faster than a Sun 3/160 or any DOS or OS/2
version of ICON on the same machine, including the protected mode DOS
version. The only ICON feature I did not implement is co-expressions.
If you need the configuration files or other information, let me know.
