[net.news.group] Prolog and logic-programming newsgroup

bts (11/23/82)

I'd like to know if there's any interest in a newsgroup
on Prolog, or related "logic-programming" languages. There
seems to be some interest in Prolog-- there're requests each
month or so in net.general on how to find out more about
it-- but there are not very many places to exchange informa-
tion. (The only exception I know of is the "Logic Program-
ming Newsletter", published every-so-often in Lisbon.) One
of the most frequent questions is how to get a Prolog inter-
preter or compiler, and which one is the best. A newsgroup
would be a good way to share our experiences.

If anyone is interested, then the next question is what
to call it. Should this be a sub-group of the programming
languages group, or something else? I'll propose the name
"net.logic", but I'm willing to listen to other nominations.

Please send me mail if you're interested, and if there
are a sufficient number of you out there in net-land, I'll
send a (very) short repeat of this (with summary) to
net.general, where everyone can see it.
