I'm probably displaying some ignorance, but... Does anyone know of a way to get native Macintosh graphics from within Icon on the Macintosh? In reading the TR on personalized interpreters, I am led to believe that the facility is only available on Unix machines, so trying to build my own Mac system may not be an answer. -Mark

Personalized interpreters are available only under UNIX Icon. They just make it possible to add functionality without having to have or recompile the entire source. You can add functionality to any version of Icon, given the source code and enough knowledge of Icon internals. I won't attempt to characterize the difficulty of accessing the Macintosh Toolbox in any general way, however.
