VOGTMURR@UREGINA1.BITNET (Murray) (10/15/89)
I need some information, but I do not subscribe to this list. Therefore if you have this information, please send a copy of your answer to ME, VOGTMURR@UREGINA1, as well as to THIS LIST. I am endeavouring to learn how to do some highly involved assembly pro- gramming of my virtual machine on CMS. I need to know how to get the assembled program I load and start,-- running in the Supervisor state instead of Problem state, so that I can use privileged instructions in my program like the I/O instructions (SIO etc.) and so that I can set the protection field in the PSW, CAW or in blocks of memory below X'20000'. I would also like to know the difference between an ordinary (tokenized?) and an extended CMS Plist and how to refer to them in my code. Finally, I obtrude on your patience to repeat a request that I made some time ago but to which I got no reply. That request is quoted below: Sometime last spring one contributor to this list said he had a file of help information for the CP Diagnose functions, used both in REXX and in assembly programs. I do not remember his name. But if he is reading this, would he be so kind as to send a copy of that help file to me at my account? (Not to the list. I don't subscribe.) I am particularly interested in DIAG functions 94, 98, A0, D0, F0. For some reason these ones are not described in the System Programmers' Guide SC19-6203-3. I use version 5 of CP, HPO / 4 of CMS. -- Thanx, Murray.
