Hello folks! In the recent past we replaced our IBM4381 with an IBM3090 and in the process we switched to MVS/ESA with TSO/E and REXX. In the past, we used TSO CLISTS to modify (change things like filenames, dates, parms) in JCL files and submit them. These changes were made using TSO EDIT from the CLIST with statements like the following: ... read values from operator, etc.... and other CLIST stuff edit 'jcldeck' cntl old top change *,9999 /#DATE/&DATE/ all /* &DATE is a CLIST variable */ submit end nosave ... more CLIST stuff I use REXX on CMS and on the PC and would like to use more of it under TSO, but many of our production jobs require doing things like the above and I haven't found a way to do it with REXX. I tried this in a REXX program and when the EDIT command was issued I was taken into the editor but the commands that followed were not executed until I manually type 'end nosave'; at that point REXX tried to execute the other commands as TSO commands. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this, or some way of modifying a file and replace all occurances of one string with another and submitting the job? Thanks in advance... -Jeff -- _______________________________________________________________________ Jeffrey May {seismo|cbosgd}!osu-cis!sppy00!jwm -or- jwm@sppy00.UUCP OCLC - Online Computer Library Center Dublin, Ohio "Heavens they're tasty and expeditious."
