[comp.lang.rexx] Rexx for Unix?

king@cell.mot.COM (Steven King) (02/21/90)

Here's something I've been wondering about for quite a while: Is there an
implementation of Rexx that runs under Unix? After using it in on mainframes
and my Amiga for so long the C-shell script language really seems nasty
to program in, even for the quick little hacks I tend to do. So:

        1) Is Rexx available for Unix?
        2) If so, is it public-domain? And where can I get a copy?
        3) If not, is someone currently working on the project?

It's not REXX, but John Ousterhout's TCL is a very nice programming language
suitable for embedding in an application. It's written for BSD, and we have
it working on System V, System III, and AmigaOS. And you can get the source.

Try "sprite.berkeley..edu:pub/tcl.tar.Z" if you have internet access.
