I was talking to a Supervisor of a UNIX group at a large company the other day and he told me that there is a new language in the public domain named PERL that is, reportedly, better than REXX. Of course one has to qualify on what criteria is it better, but what struck me about his comment was that the people within his organization who were making the claim that PERL is better were long-time REXX advocates. Does anyone have experience with PERL and how does it compare to REXX? In particular, what semantics does it have to map to the ADDRESS instruction and multi-application control in a multi-tasking environment? Thanks, Will Estes (sun!portal!cup.portal.com!Will)
