[comp.lang.rexx] Where can I get a Rexx interpreter/compiler for IBM clones?

svissag@hubcap.clemson.edu (Steve L Vissage II) (09/29/90)

A friend of mine has found a lot of Rexx libraries via anonymous ftp for
his Amiga. I was wondering if there are any interpreters or compilers and
libraries out there for IBM's. FTP sites are preferable, but if you know
a snail-mail address where I can order this stuff, that'll be appreciated, too.

P.S. Is there a Turbo Rexx out there, by any chance?

MSD4@psuvm.psu.edu (Hank) (09/30/90)

There is a program out there called "Personal REXX". (Which I
happen to own.) It was written by:

              Mansfield Software Group, Inc.
              P.O. Box 532
              Storrs, Ct
              06268
              (203) 429-8402

This is an EXCELLENT (and from what I understand, the only) REXX
interpreter for the IBM/PC.

     Hope this helps you.

A commercial product is available for IBM PC compatibles.
		Personal REXX 2.0
		Mansfield Software Group, Inc.
		PO Box 532
		Storrs, CT 06268
		(203)-429-8402

It's available directly from Mansfield. It's also listed by The
Programmer's Shop. List $150, their price $139.

		The Programmer's Shop
		5 Pond Park Road
		Hingham, MA 02043
		1-(800)-421-8006

I've dealt with both firms, and recommend either.

Well, I would expect that the CMS REXX interpreter (or the CMS REXX
compiler) under VM, or the TSO/E REXX interpreter under MVS would would
just fine for any Amdahl or Hitachi mainframe that runs either of those
operating systems successufully.... Check with your local IBM SE.

[Sorry, I just couldn't resist.... dhw]
