The version of NNTP distributed with 4.3BSD (1.2a, I think) suffered from this problem. Version 1.3 fixed it, and version 1.5 is the latest stuff (1.4 was never released officially). If you're running anything older than 1.5 NNTP, please fetch the tar files from ucbvax.berkeley.edu [10.2.0.78] with anonymous FTP, and install them - you'll be glad you did. Erik E.
