Does anybody have a version of nntp that runs under System V Release 3. Thanks in advance Milt Sagen sagen@nucthy.physics.orst.edu

At present, there are two ways to get the NNTP software to compile and run sucessfully on what AT&T is calling UNIX these days: 1. you have purchased an Excelan Ethernet interface with its embedded IP/TCP and driver software. NNTP supports this (Thank you, Stan Barber). 2. you or your vendor has done the right thing, and put 4.2 or 4.3 BSD sockets and the IP/TCP code into your kernel. Since I know of no sites doing it this way, I don't know if it will work, but it ought to, since it is basically the same as #1. If you are in either case one or two, you can probably win. [inflammatory remark about System V deficiencies goes here] good luck, Erik E. Fair apple!fair fair@apple.com
