I recently noticed a problem with NNTP. In some cases inews fails,
yet NNTP returns a 'posting successful' status. Specifically, a user
tried to post to a moderated group and thought he was successful. Not
until I examined the logged errors did I notice that the submit (we
use MMDF) had failed. I fixed the bugs in inews that prevented MMDF
from properly working, but the other problem remains, i.e., why
doesn't NNTP inform the poster that inews failed in this case (and
possibly others)? Has anybody fixed this? If not, I'm going to start
digging around and fix it myself.
