Why is it that people programming in Unix are so blind? from RFC977 (NNTP): 2.3. Commands [...] Commands and command parameters are not case sensitive. That is, a command or parameter word may be upper case, lower case, or any mixture of upper and lower case. I contacted my local NNTP server running standard software, and said GROUP COMP.SYS.ATT at it, and it gave me the 411 reply meaning no such thing. Then I went through RFC1036 looking for any description of case sensitivity, and all I found was the well known fact that the Internet DNS doesn't care about case. Arghh. At least I'll implement it right for my subpiece.
