Whenever a user on a remote machine with posting privilege is trying
to post an article, and for some reason inews(8) on the NNTP server machine
rejects the article (the most common causes of this are a nonexistent
newsgroup or too much quoted text), the remote user sees the message
Remote error: 340 OK
This is meaningless, and the actual error message issued by inews is lost
(although it does get logged in the "log" and "errlog" files on the server
machine).
Before I go mucking around with nntpd(8), has anyone who knows more than
I do about how nntpd works gone in and fixed this bug and have a patch
available?

P.S. I'm running NNTP version 1.5 on both server and clients, with news
2.11.14 on the server, which is a Sun 4/280 running Sun OS SYS4-3.2
The client, if it matters, is another Sun 4/280 running Sun OS 4.0
