From: Phil Kasten <Kasten.PETG%bco@cisl-service-multics> HELP!!!! I have a Colecovision, and the Coleco version of Miner 2049er. I have been stuck on the 4th screen of the game forever, the first screen with lifts. I heard that someone out here mentioned a trick for jumping levels in the Miner 2049er game and I thought maybe you could help me. Thanks in advance, Phil Kasten (Kasten.PETG%bco @ CISL)

Mail failed to your location, so I am posting my response: ------ Here is the way it was done on the Atari 5200 (adapted from a technique I got off the net for Atari 400 and 800). Start a game and get yourself to a place that will be safe for several seconds (i.e., the right side of the first ramp - I'm assuming your screens are similar to the 5200). Then punch in the 10 digit telephone number for BIG 5 (the manufacturer - it should be in the manual, and on the title screen). Now, you hold the upper fire button (I hope you have an analogue for this on your machine - it was the shift key on the Atari 400/800), and keeping it depressed (like a shift key) enter the number of the desired level on the keypad. You can now jump to any screen you desire (0 = 10) at any time, and can do so until you remove the cart. or turn off the machine. Try doing this just after losing your last life, but before the game ends. Let me know if it works! Steve Marcovici AT&T Bell Laboratories pyuxnn!srm

[] I submitted the clue for the Atari computer version of Miner 2049er but I must point out one problem. The Atari versions are produced by BIG 5 and the Coleco version is produced by MICRO FUN. I don't think that they would have a similar "back door" entrance but it doesn't hurt to try. Kit Kimes AT&T Consumer Products Montgomery Works Aurora, Il. 60507 ..!ihnp4!we13!mgweed!kek
