I just posted a message (using Pnews) and got the following useless reply from nntp (or rn's associated inews.client): | Article not accepted by server; not posted. | Article appended to ~/dead.article | A copy may be temporarily found in ~/.article After looking at my failed posting I could not find out what was wrong. So, I decided to look at news' errlog file on our news server. Much to my surprise, the message was much more enlightening: | Sep 22 12:50 <429@laas.laas.fr> inews: Unknown newsgroup '...' I would think it normal for my nntp client software to provide such messages. Should rn (really rrn) and nntp normally provide such? Do we have them properly installed? If the situation is normal, will a future version be more user friendly? Please, excuse my ignorance. Ralph P.
