I am looking for information on the usenet news and nntp software. We would like to set up 'generic' accounts that would allow users access to news without having to expressly login to a computer. Granted, they may have less functionality than having your own account, but it might be of use to some novice users. Does anyone out there do something like this? If so, how do you have it implemented? On the other hand, has anyone considered this but decided it was best to NOT do this? Second, we would like to try to provide usenet news access from non-unix machines. Does anyone know of any software for VM/CMS or VMS to allow "rn" and "postnews" kinds of functionality?
