Sorry if this has been hashed over before. I just set up my machine cygnus as an nntp client. Therefore, the only programs I have are rrn and the nntp version of inews. Things seem to work fine. I have discovered one problem. If I use Pnews to post an article, the Path: header does not have the user name at the end. If I post an article by following up at the newsgroup selection level within rrn, then the Path: header looks fine. (I posted this article using the latter method.) I found the code in inews.c that constructs the From and Path headers. I'll experment with that. I've already played around with various #defines but have had no luck. Any pointers will be appreciated. If more info is required, feel free to ask. In cluded below is a copy of a test posting showing the symptoms. --------------- test posting ------------------------------ Article 2494 of misc.test: Path: eastman!cygnus.Kodak.Com From: dennett@cygnus.Kodak.Com (Charlie Dennett) Newsgroups: misc.test Subject: test Message-ID: <1032@eastman.UUCP> Date: 23 Feb 90 13:42:14 GMT Sender: news@eastman.UUCP Distribution: local Organization: Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, NY Lines: 6 hello there. inews an rn have been rebuilt. -- Charlie Dennett | UUCP: ...!rutgers!rochester!kodak!cygnus!dennett Information Services | Internet: dennett@Kodak.COM Eastman Kodak Company | Phone: (716) 726-4480 Rochester, NY 14653-5219 | Minicomputer Tech.
