I've installed CNEWS and NNTP on an A/UX machine and I'm busy writing a technical note for future installers to ease their task. This outlines the various stunts you have to pull to get the programs to compile under A/UX, where to get sources and updates, how to apply patches, and how to maintain everything once its running. So some questions: What site would be the best to get nntp and cnews from? I currently list uunet.uu.net, but I've noticed the cnews file on there has moved recently. I want to be able to say "A reasonably current copy of cnews is at xx.yy in the /pub/cnews directory" and have the statement remain true. How do you apply patches obtained off this newsgroup? Maintenance: my history.pag file grows quickly to 8 Megs of data. Why? Should I just use cron to blow it away occasionally? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can lend. _______________________________________________________________________________ Robert M.
