A little while ago, patchlevel 9 for nntp was posted. Some people followed up explaining that various parts were broken i.e. the patches depended on the site running B-News. Is anybody working on sorting this out and providing patchlevel 10/fixing patchlevel 9 so it works with both news systems. I am probably going to do this myself but as usual, don't want to reinvent the wheel !! Perhaps subsequent patches can be beta-tested on C-News before posting (you have a willing volunteer here !). Incidentally, it is trivial to get nntp running under System V R3.2 (386/ix) if you have the Interactive TCP/IP implementation - I can post the small changes if anybody is interested. Patch 10 will be out in August and will work with CNEWS. Most releases of
NNTP are tested at CNEWS sites. Patch 9 was not for exceptional reasons that
need not be discussed here. If you want to run NNTP 1.5.9 with CNEWS, it should
work if you use the spawn.c from NNTP 1.5.8 with the rest of 1.5.9.
