lancelot@spock.UUCP (Thor Lancelot Simon) (09/02/90)
I just tried to install the nntp software on our system. All went well except for some minor compile-time errors, until I had it up and running and tried to connect to it with rrn. It hung. I waited a long time, and then gave up and telnetted to the port (119) to test it out. I hit return once and got this: * ^ Connection Closed. Obviously this is NOT what should be going on. I have authentication off, and I have it set up with default read post. I don't understand what's going on here, as all seemed to go fine until this happened. Somebody must have seen this before? Please? :-) In any case, if anybody can enlighten me about this, send mail to lancelot@spock.UUCP (decwrl!spock!lancelot), simon@ctoavx.enet.dec.com, or post to this group. (though I'd prefer mail to spock or ctoavx.) Thanks a LOT, Thor Simon ******************************************************************************* *Thor Simon * Okay, just a little pin-prick...There'll be no more-* *lancelot@spock.UUCP * Aieeeeaaaugh!-but you may feel a little _sick_. * *uunet!hsi!yale!lancelot* ---Pink Floyd *
