They're two programs, generated from common source code. Functions are, as much as possible, identical. DXRN uses the XUI (DECwindows) widget set. MXRN uses Motif. They're ports of XRN V6.11 to XUI and MOTIF (XRN as distributed uses the Athena widgets).
