[] We've been having problems with our Imagen I-10 printer lately, and would like to know if anyone else has had similar problems. We have the Imagen hooked to its host via a Bell Dataphone II 2096A, and the Imagen has version 1.8 ROMs. The problem we've been having is the printer crashes randomly, sometimes in the middle of a print job. The modem usually exhibits a "failure" at the same time. (But then the modem often displays "failure" modes, and it doesn't affect operation.) Usually the only way we can recover the printer is to reboot its processor. The telephone company says the modem and telephone lines are OK. The Imagen service folks say the Imagen is OK. The problem is usually worst during wet weather. We suspect a noisy power line may be affecting either the modem, printer, or both. Has anyone else had similar problems, and have power line filters been a solution? Does anyone know which of the two (printer or modem) is more sensitive to power line noise? I'd appreciate mail from anyone with suggestions or solutions. Wayne Heinmiller Bell Communications Research houxz!wh Freehold, NJ
