[news.software.nntp] gethistent

wolf@grasp1.univ-lyon1.fr (Christophe Wolfhugel) (04/12/91)

During transfers from my newsfeeder to here, the syslog gets lots of
error message, and I don't know exactely where my configuration mistake is,
if any:
[System in IBM RS/6000 running AIX 3.1]

[...]
Apr 11 19:50:43 grasp1 nntpd[13770]: gethistent: histfile: No such file or direc
tory
Apr 11 19:51:47 grasp1 last message repeated 11 times
[...]

It seems that nntpd logs the gethistent on each article received. I've compiled
cnews as to use DBZ, and indicated following options to nntp in order that
it finishes fine on compile & link, and that it uses DBZ:

common/conf.h:
USG is defined (if I don't do this, when one of my clients posts, the
article is indicated as rejected, but in fact it is posted).

DBM,NDBM are undefined.

DBZ is defined

I've also defined USGHIST in order not to get link errors (histfile not
found).

I'm not familiar with DBx stuff, so I probably made a mistake in some place
there. Can anyone help me?
