IS THERE ANYONE ON THE NET THAT STILL USES DIGITAL GROUP EQUIPMENT? IF YOU DO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE USING IT FOR
AND WHAT CONFIGURATION YOU HAVE.

I am happy to say that I am still using my DIGITAL GROUP system
that I purchased 1977.
I use it for my personal home accounting needs as well as a
learning aid for my four year old son.
In addition, since I teach part time at a local University,
I use the system to keep track of my students grades.

The current configuration of my DIGITAL GROUP system is:

Z80 CPU running at 2.5 MHz. (DG CPU board)

Three Phi-Deck digital tape drives
.br
Four parallel I/O ports (DG I/O board)
.br
One RS-232 serial port (custom board)

In addition, I have a fully custom designed system that
is software compatible with all of DIGITAL GROUPs
software.
In fact, at this time I am operating with the Phi-Deck
tape drives.

Z80 CPU operating at 2.5 or 4.0 MHz. (selectable)

I am currently operating under HI-PHI-II a modified version of
DIGITAL GROUPS PHIMON operating system.
I am currently running BUSINESS BASIC 1 and 2 as well as OPUS II
and CONVERS.
Along with the above software, I have most of DIGITAL GROUPs
assemblers, disassemblers, text editors, and games.

I will be adding CPM to my system as soon as I get the disk
interface installed.

witters@fluke.UUCP (John Witters) (03/14/84)

I'm still using a Digtal Group system. It has

	64K RAM
	Z-80 CPU
	Parallel I/O card
	TVC 64 display
	UART (Added by myself)
NSC57109 Arithmetic Chip (Added by myself)
S100 Floppy Disk Controller (Jade Double D)
	2 5-1/4 inch disk drives

I'm running CP/M 2.2, and have adapted some of the audio cassette software to
run under CP/M (BASIC, WOPROC, and the assemblers).

I bought the original hardware in early 1977, and have added stuff to it over
the years. Except for occasional ram chip failures, the system has worked
reliably. Incidently, I bought surplus RAM chips to populate the boards.

I'm considering replacing it with a UNIX box. Anyone interested in taking it
off my hands?

I am using a DIGITAL GROUP 4 board system to keep dust from collecting on
the shelf it sits on. Anyone need spare boards ? (1 Z80 CPU, 1 TVC-64 ,4
parallel I/O and 8K Ram board, (also 32 K ram board that is unpopulated),
and mother board) If you want it, make an offer. I am afraid I have resused
the nifty power supplies in another system but the rest is available. Details
through me.
