IS THERE ANYONE ON THE NET THAT STILL USES DIGITAL GROUP EQUIPMENT? IF YOU DO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE USING IT FOR AND WHAT CONFIGURATION YOU HAVE. -AL MCINTOSH -------

There was a request posted recently, by Al McIntosh through this new group, requesting if anyone still used DIGITAL GROUP hardware. .sp I am happy to say that I am still using my DIGITAL GROUP system that I purchased 1977. I use it for my personal home accounting needs as well as a learning aid for my four year old son. In addition, since I teach part time at a local University, I use the system to keep track of my students grades. .sp The current configuration of my DIGITAL GROUP system is: .sp .in +4 Z80 CPU running at 2.5 MHz. I'm still using a Digtal Group system. It has 64K RAM Z-80 CPU Parallel I/O card TVC 64 display UART (Added by myself) NSC57109 Arithmetic Chip (Added by myself) S100 Floppy Disk Controller (Jade Double D) 2 5-1/4 inch disk drives I'm running CP/M 2.2, and have adapted some of the audio cassette software to run under CP/M (BASIC, WOPROC, and the assemblers). I bought the original hardware in early 1977, and have added stuff to it over the years. Except for occasional ram chip failures, the system has worked reliably. Incidently, I bought surplus RAM chips to populate the boards. I'm considering replacing it with a UNIX box. Anyone interested in taking it off my hands? John Witters John Fluke Mfg. Co. Inc. P.O.B. I am using a DIGITAL GROUP 4 board system to keep dust from collecting on the shelf it sits on. Anyone need spare boards ? (1 Z80 CPU, 1 TVC-64 ,4 parallel I/O and 8K Ram board, (also 32 K ram board that is unpopulated), and mother board) If you want it, make an offer. I am afraid I have resused the nifty power supplies in another system but the rest is available. Details through me. --Chuck MCMANIS@USC-ECLC {ucbvax,hplabs,pur-ee}!intelca!cem
