[Et tu, line-eater? (If there ever WAS a line eater)] I am looking for information on porting an application running on various SySV boxes to a PC running Microport UNIX. My questions are: 1) Microport V/AT is obviously the more mature product, but this application may (we're not sure) need the added processing speed of a 386. How reliable is the 386 version? If we have a short schedule, would it be wiser to use the 286 version? 2) The application does a lot of i/o via the serial port. I've seen various messages about problems with the tty drivers. What kinds of bugs have people experienced? Can the tty drivers be trusted to handle a lot of data? Please mail replies to me at the address below. If anyone wants a summary of what I find out, send me a message and I'll return one. If there is enough interest, I'll post it. Thanks in advance! ------- Tom Frauenhofer ...!rochester!cci632!ccird3!tvf or tfra_c56@vera.cc.rochester.edu BLOOM: You can't shoot the actors! They're Human Beings! BIALYSTOCK: Oh yeah?
