I've got the everex tape drive kit, with the driver supplied through microport. Seems to work ok, except for one thing. Rewind freezes process dispatch. I'm not even sure how that might happen, unless the driver is busy-waiting. Interrupt driven things still happen - keyboard echo, virtual console switching, but no process gets any cpu (apparently) until the rewind completes. Then all procedes as if nothing had happened.
