[comp.unix.microport] mounting two disks

larry@focsys.UUCP (Larry Williamson ) (04/14/88)

I appologize for not paying closer attention to the discussions
that have been going on here with regards to mounting two hard
disks. My questions were probably answered in previous discussions.

I wish to mount a second disk on my Tatung AT clone. The first
hard disk is a 60 Meg priam. The second hard disk will be a 80 meg
seagate.

I would have thought that this would be very straight forward, but
I've seen too many news items from people that have had trouble with
this.

If it simplifies things, I will use two 80 meg seagate drives and
put the priam to another use in another machine. That is no problem.

Another point I'd like to bring up. When I first installed microport
on the priam, I had a lot of trouble getting microport to recognize
all the cylinders. I never was able to get it to work with all 1018
user cylinders that priam tells me I have available. I was only able
to get microport to recognize the first 966 (944?) or so. (I forget
the exact number).

So, in summary, my questions are:
    1. Can I mount two hard disks on this system?
    2. Can they be of different sizes?
    3. Is there a technique to get microport to recognize all the
	cylinders on each disk?
