Well with all the bug list screaming, I thought someone might appreciate a positive posting. Comp.unix.wizards has been having a discussion about systems crashing after no disk space remains. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when uPort didn't. I was playing around wih some funny speed processors, and managed to corrupt my filesystem, free list so it only listed a total of 27 free blocks on all partitions on both disks. The system chunked away unattended for four hours on news and uucp traffic without a crash. (All the news batches got properly dumped though :-() It stayed up and let me do a fsk and clean up some of the problem. A reboot fixed the root partition and I didn't even lose a single file. I was quite impressed, I have used BSD systems that wouldn't have taken this abuse.... -- Dragos Ruiu ruiu@dragos.UUCP ...alberta!dragos!ruiu "cat ansi.c | grep -v noalias >proper.c"
