I asked this question in December with negligible results: Does anyone own one of those marvelous not-so-IBM-compatible Sanyo MBC-550s? You know, the ones you can pick up for around $800 with 128K RAM, 8088, Centronics parallel port, 3 bit planes of 640 by 200 graphics, MS-DOS 1.25, MicroPro Software, &c. We've been doing all sorts of things with 'em here in San Diego - hard disks, double sided drives, IBM expansion chassis, and I've got MODEM7 and a Tektronics 4010 emulator up on mine if anybody wants such things. If there are people with these machines out there, has anybody come up with networking capability, Unix (hah!), or laboratory controll (ieee488?) without going through an IBM expansion chassis? BTW, if you're a programmer frustrated by the incomplete Sanyo documentation, you can send Sanyo $5, and they'll send you the source for the BIOS - very useful! -- ThankSalot Doug Salot ..sdcsvax!sdccs7!ee163ahq
