OK - the votes are in for the nominees for the comp.unix.xenix and comp.unix.microport reorganization. The counts were Choice 1: 11 Choice 2: 24 Choice 3: 8 Choice 4: 3 Choice 5: 1 Choice 6: 7 Choice 7: 5 Choice 8: 1 Choice 9: 16 Choice 10: 7 Other: 2 The winning choice was #2: comp.unix.xenix Microsoft Xenix and its derivatives comp.unix.i286 UNIX on systems using the Intel '286 CPU comp.unix.i386 UNIX on systems using the Intel '386 CPU delete comp.unix.microport And as noted in the first call for votes "delete comp.unix.microport" means, as Paul Vixie put it: Wait for volume to fall off, then delete it. Post messages to it regularly telling of the existence of [the new groups]. I [Paul Vixie] will do this. So, the official proposal is: Create the following two newsgroups: comp.unix.i286 UNIX on systems using the Intel '286 CPU comp.unix.i386 UNIX on systems using the Intel '386 CPU Delete comp.unix.microport (after a reasonable transition period). Please vote either YES or NO for this package proposal by replying to this address. ALL VOTES MUST BE BY MAIL. I'm not that hard to reach; check out the signature. If you really have trouble, call me. If 100 more yes votes than no votes are received within a 30 day period, the change will be made.
