[comp.unix.microport] Anyone have a large model awk for System V/AT 2.4

eric@egsner.UUCP (Eric Schnoebelen) (02/06/89)

Well, the subject sums it up pretty well.
The problem is that awk complains of an out of symbol space
error when trying to generate the netnews traffic summaries.

	All help/pointers are appreicated.
	Thanks
		Eric.

There's yet another problem.

Awk, as distributed by Microport, won't handle even a 5-6K awk script! It
complains about a "regular expression too large" and exits.

This makes several things not work, including smail 3's configuration
scripts.

My attempt to work around this putting together a minimal replacement for
awk failed due to yet ANOTHER problem in 2.3/2.4 -- the kernel PANICs if you
try to do any floating point operations without a coprocessor!

Not nice!
