I promised a posting when we had some good numbers to report if I had interest expressed; here they are: Controller 386/ix(1.06) SCO SV/386 CORETEST (DOS) ---------- ------ ---------- --------- WD1003-WA2 85KB/sec 100KB/sec 153KB/sec (1:3) WD1003-RA2 90KB/sec 105KB/sec 210KB/sec (1:3) ACB2372A -- Unknown -- 112KB/sec 670KB/sec (1:1) WD1006-V/SR2 235KB/sec 348KB/sec 680KB/sec (1:1) (KB = Kilobytes, not bits) All tests conducted in single-user mode with no daemons active using: time dd if=/dev/rhdxxx of=/dev/null bs=32k Only the wall-clock time was used in the computations, of course. All measurements were made over at least a 20 Meg partition to reduce error. I would expect other SV/386 ports to be similar to Interactive (they are closer brothers than Xenix is). If we had a reliable installation for 386/ix 2.0 (on the one customer machine that's using it) we'd have some numbers for that as well.... -- Karl Denninger (karl@ddsw1.MCS.COM, ddsw1!karl) Data: [+1 312 566-8912], Voice: [+1 312 566-8910] Macro Computer Solutions, Inc.
