I've got an interesting setup that gives me a more compatible dos under unix system. I have a dos based network that connects my '386 running uport unix + dos merge to a '286 machine. The '286 machine runs just dos, sharing the file systems with the dos portion of the '386 machine. I use a switch box that allows me to share my one monitor+keyboard between the two machines. So now, with the flip of a switch, I'm running a true dos machine where the serial ports, screen, etc work perfectly. This machine can access the dos partitions of the '386 machine running unix. With no hard disk '286 systems for < $900, this isn't a bad way to go. It might be even better if I could use NFS/PC-NFS. BTW, the network is Lantastic by Artisoft. $150/node, 2MB/sec, works fine under dos merge. -- Jon Zeeff zeeff@b-tech.ann-arbor.mi.us Ann Arbor, MI sharkey!b-tech!zeeff
