The OSF is not the FSF!!! Yes, I know. I would like to say it was just a typo, but it was truly a thinko--I had OSF on the mind for other reasons, and my mind was wandering while I typed. I really DO know better, and I am very sorry to have impugned the integrity of the FSF by mistakenly associating them with the OSF. The two are entirely unrelated. And while I don't intend to send a bunch of money to FSF right now, for just the reason I mentioned (they're not interested in the machine I need to keep running), I do see contributing to them (either money or software) as a sensible thing to do. On the other hand, I'm assuredly NOT going to send money to OSF. They have too much already...I think they should send ME some money!
