I previously mentioned the possibility of a 36 bit micro.  Various people
have mentioned a rumor of a DEC PDP-10 micro project that got scrubbed
because it might compete with the VAX line.  On the other hand, nobody
suggested that DEC had to produce this microcomputer.  Astute net readers
have no doubt seen the discussion of the Foonly PDP-10 lookalike.  There
have been PDP-11 lookalikes too.  Well, it doesn't have to be DEC.  Perhaps
somewhere in a secret Japaneese labratory is a PDP-10-on-a-chip just waiting
to surprise the market.

By the way, I don't think this is probable, just possible.  I'm happy with
32-bit register machines and most programmers seem to be too.  Still...
