[comp.unix.microport] Miniscribe disk info

tvf@cci632.UUCP (Tom Frauenhofer) (02/16/90)

I have obtained a Miniscribe 3425 disk. Unfortunately, I have no
documentation on how to set it up as a second disk on my system (I do have
the track/sector/# of heads info). Does anyone know how I might have to set
the switches on the back of the thing to set it up correctly?

Please respond via e-mail. Thanks.

Please post info on the net. There may be a lot of interest - I am one.

Thanks.

For a MiniScribe 3425, the following are the dipswitch settings
for choosing Drive Selects:

Drive Select 1	ON	-234---8
		OFF	1---567-

Drive Select 2	ON	-234--7-
		OFF	1---56-8

If your drive has jumpers it must be a 3425P (lucky guy) and you should
close DS1 and open DS0,DS2,DS3.

(Note: I'm not a lucky guy :-( )
