In my thesis, I'm working on Intelligent Tutoring Systems ( ITS ) in mechanical ventilation of the lungs ( respirator therapy ). I've been searching for directly related work ( especially systems using intelligent simulation ) "all over the world", but haven't found anything yet. If anybody out on the net knows anything about such works, please let me know. References, titles, names, adresses ( electronic as well ).... I will also be interested in references on works in ITS in Anesthesia. M.L. Good et.al. has something going on at the Univ. of Florida called "critical events simulation for training in anesthesiology". I would like to get some references on this work. On my way into ITS & mechanical ventilation I've scanned trough several projects on expert/decission support systems in mechanical ventilation of the lungs. So far, the KUSIVAR ( Frostell, Gill et. al., Sweden ) and the VQ-ATTENDING ( Miller P et. al., Yale ), are my favourites. Any other suggestions? It might be some that I haven't recognized yet. References etc??? Finally, I wonder if there will be arranged any conferences or summerschools/courses in ITS this year ( somewhere in the world..).
